Club Card vs Promolu: what each one includes and who it suits

In short: Promolu is a self-service loyalty card platform with an Initial plan at $299 MXN a month, a 14-day free trial with no card required and cards in Apple and Google Wallet. Club Card costs USD 39 a month, includes setup by the team and a customer CRM, and saves the card to Google Wallet; on iPhone it works in the browser. Promolu is cheaper, can be tried for free and adds Apple Wallet. Club Card suits owners who want it handed to them working and want each customer's data.

Club Card's card, counter app, dashboard and signup are in Spanish only.

What each one is

Promolu is a service for creating digital loyalty cards that customers save to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The business sets it up itself and pays by plan according to its number of branches. It can be tried for 14 days without entering a card.

Club Card is a digital stamp card branded with the business's name, for coffee shops, bakeries and counter businesses in Mexico and Argentina. The Club Card team sets it up, and it comes with a CRM and an owner dashboard.

Price over a year

With published prices, Promolu Initial paid yearly equals 10 months: about $2,990 MXN. Club Card is USD 468 a year, or USD 348 the first year at the founder price. Club Card charges in dollars, so the amount in pesos depends on the exchange rate. There is no setup fee and no lock-in.

Promolu is cheaper on the entry plan. Watch the cap of 500 active customers: a busy coffee shop can reach it and need to upgrade. Going from 1 to 3 branches requires the Growth plan.

The real difference is who does the work. With Promolu you design the card, set the rules and train your staff. With Club Card we do that, and you also get the CRM. We estimate those pieces cost about USD 199 a month separately; this is our own estimate. For the full cost of a program, read how much a loyalty card costs.

Apple Wallet and the free trial: where Promolu wins

Promolu saves the card to Apple Wallet and Club Card does not. With Club Card, iPhone customers use their card in the browser, with their code, and the stamp is added the same way.

StatCounter measures 28% iOS phones in Mexico and 13% in Argentina for September 2026. If most of your customers use iPhone, Promolu has the edge.

The 14-day trial with no card is also in its favor. You can build the card and see it on your phone before paying.

What happens with the data

Promolu's page does not mention a CRM. It talks about active customers as a plan limit.

At Club Card each member is recorded with their data, and the dashboard shows who returns within 30 days and who has been away for 60. You can export the list. Promotions only reach people who agreed to receive them. This helps bring back people who stopped coming, as the customer retention guide explains.

Day to day at the counter

In both cases the customer shows a code and the staff scans it. At Club Card the scanner installs as an app on the shop's phone, adds the stamp and hands out the reward from the same screen. The system allows one stamp per member per day across all locations. Each stamp is logged with date, branch and employee.

A real example: Giorgini Panetteria, a bakery in Tucumán with two branches, Centro and Yerba Buena, has had its club since September 2, 2026. It gives one stamp per visit and a treat at 8 stamps. If you run a bakery, that setup is a good starting point.

Google Maps reviews

Club Card gives 5 stamps for a Google Maps review and 2 for TripAdvisor, once each. Promolu does not mention it on its pricing page.
